I'm Alex McDaniel, and I'm a longtime writer, editor and digital strategist who lives in Oxford, Mississippi. Throughout my 10-year journalism career, I've covered just about everything across all print and digital platforms including news, sports, opinion and feature writing. I'm passionate about innovating journalism from the ground up in a way that results in a sustainable business and editorial model for media companies around the world.
A graduate of the Meek School of Journalism at the University of Mississippi, I returned to my college town in 2016 as editorial director of Oxford Newsmedia, where I'm editor in chief of The Oxford Eagle and founding editor of Oxford Magazine. Past gigs include AL.com, Birmingham Magazine, The Clarion-Ledger and Parade.
I love bourbon, catfish, football and my son, Jack. Not in that order.
